More Snow Today

We've received about 5 cm of new snow overnight, and snowfall is forecast to continue until midday.

I may groom the trails, but will not start until the snowfall has ended.

The temperature will be close to 0, so the snow may be a bit wet and sticky.

11 a.m. Update: The snowfall has stopped, but I am not going to groom. The temperature has reached +1 and the snow is very wet and packy. In this condition, the snow is not manageable, and will not groom well. I will have to wait until it's below freezing again.

Some snow, but still a bit thin

As you may have expected, we've been receiving snow here at Hockleycrest. But not nearly as much as the forecast predicted. Right now, we have about 7 cm of light fluffy snow on the ground, on average. Because of the strong winds, snow is not evenly distributed; some spots have more, some are almost bare.

Trails are not groomed yet.

Skiing would be possible, but I don't recommend it. If you do come, bring your rock skis.

More Snow!

We have been receiving more snow, in the form of squalls, and it is still snowing now. Total snow on the ground now is about 20 cm. So if you're really anxious to get out on skis, it is now possible. Trails are not groomed, and signage is not yet up at the southern end of the network.

The temperature is predicted to reach +2 this afternoon, so the morning would probably be the best time to give it a try.

First Snowfall of the new season

We are receiving snow this morning. So far, only about a half centimeter but it's still snowing.

Please do NOT come out to ski today; I'm sure there will not be enough snow to ski on.

The trails will be ready for skiing by December 1, provided there is snow then. Trail signage is now about 60% installed, and everything will be in place by December 1.
