Heading in the Right Direction

There is still no skiing, but the future is looking a bit brighter. This morning's temperature is -1, and some snow is forecast for tomorrow. After that, we're looking at consistent below-freezing temperatures, with flurries.

Snow Gone

Our snow is almost all gone. The rest will disappear today. There will be no skiing until we get a significant new snowfall. It looks like colder weather will return on Thursday.

Not A Ski Day

We lost a little snow yesterday. The snow this morning is definitely of the moist "packing" type. With a forecast high today of +9, this will not be a good ski day.

Deteriorating conditions

As of this morning, conditions on our trails are still not bad. But with the temperature rising to +2 this afternoon, conditions will deteriorate. If you want to ski, come early. Current temperature -2.

All northern trails are closed because of logging operations. Please do not attempt to ski there; trails are impassable.

Continuing Nice

Conditions on the trails continue to be fair-to-good. Snow cover is thin but sufficient.

The temperature will reach close to 0 this afternoon, so the snow might become a bit sticky.

Please remember that the northern trails are closed due to logging operations.

Nice Skiing this morning

There is some nice skiing to be had on the trails this morning. A few spots still have thin snow cover, but overall it's not bad. It won't last long; Friday will bring some warmer weather.

All southern and central trails were packed yesterday morning, and I touched up the double-wide part of Hockleycrest trail in the afternoon, to remove footprints of inconsiderate walkers and runners.

Current temperature is -5. Good glide, and comfortable for skiing.

Northern trails are NOT open; logging operations are taking place there.

Finally Enough Snow

We had a steady, moderate snowfall yesterday and last night. Snow depth on the ground is now about 10 cm. I will be grooming later this morning; roller and comb only. I don't think there is enough depth to set tracks.

The snow is a bit moist, at a temperature of minus 1. The forecast says the temperature will stay at -1 most of the day, starting to cool off mid-afternoon.

11 a.m. Update: trails in the southern and central parts of the network have been groomed. All northern trails are closed, due to timber harvesting operations.
