I've just come in from skiing. Trail conditions have not changed much over the past few days. It is still hard and icy. Yesterday, we received about 1 cm of new snow from light flurries, but this has not really improved skiing conditions very much. If I were you, I'd go for a hike today rather than skiing.
I spent some time yesterday afternoon, limbing white pines along the Hockleycrest Trail #3; anyplace where branches were overhanging the trail and I could reach them with a saw, I removed them. This will make no difference to current trail conditions, but will hopefully pay dividends in the future.
