February 8

Day 52 of skiing this season.

Skiing is good again today, but not quite as good as a couple of days ago. Heavy skier traffic over the weekend has packed the snow hard on the busier trails. I will be out later this morning, trying to loosen it up a bit.

It's cool this morning, at -14, but there is no wind so it doesn't feel too bad.

Yesterday afternoon, on trail #19
Update: I've gone over many of the trails with the Piranha, and I think it helped a bit. And I've reset the tracks on some of the most heavily used trails in the central section. It's still -12 outside, but the sunshine is beautiful.

  1. Any suggestions what is the easiest way to get to the north side groomed trails? Which trails should I take?
Went walking there yesterday, lovely forest! Happy trails!

    1. If you're looking for the least difficult, both technically and physically, then enter on Mainline, take the first left at #2 and another left at #7, then a right at #16. This brings you back to Mainline, where there is an unavoidable challenging hill. Once you've got north of that, you can stay on Mainline or head to the left on Hockleycrest #3.

    3. Yes, that route would take you Black Cherry. Have a look at the map and you'll see how to connect.
