Friday: weather is not as bad as expected

The temperature here is now -1 and it hasn't risen above 0 all day. We have actually received about 1 cm of new snow since yesterday, but right now it is definitely of the "packing" variety. This is a much better outcome than we were expecting from the forecast. There are a few more critical hours before we can definitely declare that the warm weather is behind us. By tomorrow morning, chances are it will be about -2 and the snow will probably be a bit on the crusty side. I will let you know after I've been out for my morning ski.
