Today is Day 30 of skiing this season.
Yesterday's snowfall did not disappoint; between 15 and 20 cm of nice, fluffy powder. Right now, we have excellent back-country conditions. Trails that I packed yesterday afternoon (which was most of the network) are skiing nicely with about 8 cm of powder on top of a firm base. I will be out to groom again as soon as there is enough daylight.
The temperature is comfortable, at -5, and is forecast to drop to -8 this afternoon. The skiing will be very good today.
Update 10:20 a.m. South end and central trails have been groomed, including some track-setting, mostly in the central area. North end trails will be packed soon.
Afternoon update: All trails have been groomed today. I've been out skiing to assess the conditions, and they are excellent. It doesn't get much better than this. Today is a near-perfect ski day; nice comfortable temperature, and packed powder snow. The temperature is at the perfect point where your skis have good grip and great glide. You can get up some nice speed on the downhills, but the packed powder surface allows you to control speed effortlessly.
The weather forecast looks great for the next few days, so these great conditions should continue until at least Thursday.
We were there today, the trails are very nice. Thank you very much to bring us an enjoyable Sunday.
